“The White Tiger” (2021, Netflix)

If you were paying attention at all to Indian literature in 2008, then you've heard of Aravind Adiga's debut novel The White Tiger. (The book's memorable purple and white cover was a mainstay on the front tables of Borders and Barnes and Noble locations across the U.S. and the Adiga would go on to become the youngest writer to win the Man Booker Prize that same year.) On Friday, Netflix debuted a splashy new feature film based on the novel starring Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
