“Zara Hossain Is Here” by Sabina Khan

Zara Hossain Is Here by Sabina Khan

Zara Hossain Is Here highlights a queer teen's fight for justice

We were first introduced to the work of Sabina Khan in 2019 when she released her debut novel The Love And Lies of Rukhsana Ali, which explored the struggles of a Bangladeshi American girl as she came out as a lesbian to her parents.

Khan's second novel is very different, both in tone and subject matter. Zara Hossain Is Here was released by Scholastic earlier this month and features a teen girl who fully embraces her bisexual identity — and whose parents wholeheartedly support her.
