Unsurprisingly, the children's book-to-thriller author pipeline is not a particularly robust one.

That's one of the reasons we were intrigued by Hilde Vandermeeren's new book The Scorpion's Head. The Danish author first began her career writing for middle grade and young adult audiences before doing a complete 180 in recent years. She now regularly writes thrillers that are a huge hit in the Netherlands.
