Happy New Year, readers! We spent the last weekend of the year the same way millions of other Netflix subscribers did: devouring the new Shondaland series Bridgerton.

Based on the much-loved early 2000s series by romance novelist Julia Quinn, the show follows the lives and loves of the Bridgerton family, a huge aristocratic brood of eight siblings whose names all follow the order of the alphabet.
